Welcome back, Grace Bible Fellowship!
Earlier this month, we welcomed our first short-term team to Bolivia since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a blessing to have Grace Bible Fellowship, Harrisburg, PA, back in Bolivia after a long absence! Several of our ITM team members have close connections to GBF, so it was a pleasure to have them join us for almost two weeks of ministry and fellowship.
For some of the team members, it was their first time in Bolivia, and others are seasoned veterans. Here are two short testimonies from Edna and Steve, members of the team from Harrisburg.
"I was humbled and blessed to see how God is working in Cochabamba and San Lorenzo, Bolivia. Families came by canoe from a day or two away to study God’s word at the Bible Institute in San Lorenzo. The men had a deep desire to learn the Scriptures so that they can return to teach in their village and take the Gospel to neighboring villages. The women also wanted to learn God’s Word. They joined their husbands in class or came to Bible classes with young children.
“I was impressed with how content the Bolivians are. They were committed to travel by canoe with their family to the Bible Institute. They stayed in rooms with tarp walls for privacy. They cared for their children and were eager to help in any way they were needed on the grounds of the institute.
“This was my first short term mission trip at 63 years of age. I left a part of my heart in Bolivia with my Christian Brothers and Sisters.”
“This was my second trip to Bolivia. Both times I travelled to San Lorenzo de Moxos. On the first trip, we started construction on the Centro Bíblico Misionero (CBM). This time, we had the privilege of teaching classes in Genesis at the CBM. I was greatly encouraged to see the students’ hunger for God’s Word and desire to spread the gospel in their home communities. I was further encouraged by wonderful times of fellowship with the students and ITM staff. There were 13 members on our short-term mission team, and all were completely blessed to partner with ITM in establishing and building up the church in the remote interior of Bolivia. It is exciting to see what ITM is doing to reach every tribe and tongue in Bolivia. I am so glad to have been a part of it.”
